Your internal clock is a liar and honestly it deserves a formal complaint.

You know that moment when you wake up absolutely convinced it's Saturday, full of peace and weekend energy, ready to do absolutely nothing productive, and then reality crashes in like an uninvited guest at a dinner party. It's Wednesday. It's very much Wednesday. You have places to be and your brain just betrayed you in the most spectacular fashion possible.

Scientists like to call this "dream residue" which sounds very official and important. The idea is that your sleeping brain drags bits of its little dream world into your waking one, confusing your sense of time and day like a GPS that keeps rerouting you back to somewhere you definitely did not want to go.

Here is what nobody in the scientific community wants to admit though. Your internal calendar simply refuses to boot up properly until it receives the one signal it actually respects. And that signal is not sunlight, not an alarm, and certainly not the sound of your obligations waiting patiently for you.

It is coffee. Full stop.

Coffee is basically the update your operating system desperately needs every single morning before it can sync back to reality and function like a normal human being should. One cup in and suddenly you know what day it is, what year it is, and possibly even why you agreed to that Wednesday morning meeting in the first place.

In their own words: “On November 4, 2005 we decided to take three generations of coffee growers and one generation of coffee importers a step further and founded Las Chicas del Café. We, Maria Fiallos and Valeria Fiallos-Soliman, roast and package coffee out of our location at 750 Talbot St. St. Thomas, ON. This is a long way from our native Nicaragua, and our family's coffee farm in Las Sabanas, Nicaragua. Coffee has defined us for four generations. A relationship that began as first steps were taken on coffee patios, has now blossomed into a passion for the perfect roast profile. Our coffee is a true testament to craftsmanship, as it is handled and processed by hand, from the time the coffee cherries are picked to the time the beans are packaged for our consumers. “
